Plot:
A psychopath is posing as a photographer is taking photos of exotic girls, then strangles them to death. Meanwhile a bookshop owner is slashing the throats of bums around Skid Row. What happens when the Hollywood Strangler falls in love with The Skid Row Slasher?

Ugh, this is a terrible terrible movie. Look at the plot above, that is really all the movie is, it never goes anywhere further then that. We never even learn the names of the lead characters for fucks sake! You wouldn’t think a movie that only lasts about 63 minutes could drag so much but The Hollywood Slasher Meets The Skid Row Slasher manages it. It wastes the potential of a decent movie that it could have been had it been played right.

The main problem I had with the movie is that it’s horrible repetitive, even for a slasher movie. Even though there are about fourteen deaths in the movie it’s pretty much two death scenes played over and over again. With the Strangler we see him call up girl and arrange an appointment. We cut to him taking images of the girl in various poses. We hear his thoughts via a voice over “she’s trash” “she’s teasing me, just like Marsha used to tease me, she’s asking for it, begging me for it!” “She’s just like all the others,”. He then thinks they‘re coming on to him and strangles them to death while screaming “Die garbage". Meanwhile drunks come in and bother the Slasher at work, she follows them until they sit down and rest somewhere, she then stabs them in the neck and leaves. Every one of these deaths are shot in the same way it gets tiring quickly.

From what I can figure from the voice over is that the Strangler went out with a girl named Marsha, or was married to her. Apparently she did they dirty on him, he snapped and strangled her to death. Then went off looking for the perfect girl and strangles all the dirty ones. He catches sight of the Slasher one day and sees her as being different and pure unlike the rest and falls in love and follows her around a little. We learn nothing about the Slasher at all, never get a movie, she never says anything. All we know is she kills bums, works in a book store and likes to go on runs on the beach.

The movie is terribly made, it sounds like it was filmed without any sound and had all the sound recorded in later. There is almost no dialog, the voice over from the Strangler runs over most of the movie. The rest of the dialog consists of models saying things like “How’s this pose?” also sometimes peoples mouths aren’t moving as they speak. The strangling scenes sound like sex scenes as victims sound like they are moaning in pleasure rather then pain.

The script is repetitive and dull, as I’ve said we never even learn the names of the two killers. The movie doesn’t have any suspense in it at all, the deaths are just bloodless, suspenceless bores. The climax of the movie when our killers meet is such a disappointment and a waste but it is quite hilariously awful.

I can’t find anything positive about this movie other then it’s quite sleazy (Check out the nudie roller disco scene), there is a lot of T&A. Some of the crappy dialog may give you some chuckles, especially the badly acted voice over. The scenery of a very trashy Hollywood is pretty decent. That’s about all I can say good about the movie as it’s really just a bore. The idea of one killer stalking and falling in love with someone else who turns out to be a killer could have been decent but it’s totally wasted here. AVOID!
