Plot:
A group of teenagers break into a abandoned ski lodge to do some Shredding (Snowboarding). What they don’t know is that years ago a group of snowboarders accidentally caused the death of a young girl and then disappeared. Now it appears someone is watching the group, someone who has a different definition of shredding and doesn’t like snowboarders to much and starts taking them out by one.

Shredder is a fun little slasher movie. It knows exactly what it is and never tries to be anything else. There is talent in front and behind the camera and it really shows. The cast look like they are having a blast making the flick. The acting is pretty good, better then most found in direct to video slasher movies.

The plot isn’t overly original but there where things about it I liked. I liked the fact that the killer was killing once someone broke a rule. There are quite a few red herrings in the flick, it wasn’t over done and I wasn’t to sure who it would turn out to be. I liked the killers costume in this movie, it’s pretty cool. I liked the Ski lodge snow setting, it was pretty good to see it done right as it was done terrible in the god awful ICED, ugh!

Lets talk about the kills, I was drooling during the murders we get lots of goodies, chopped off heads, chopped off fingers, some impaling a nasty ripped open leg, the red stuff really splashed around in this movie, they are pretty fun. There is also a funny hanging where a someone is hanged on a ski lift and her body keeps passing others but they never notice. Also while we’re talking about goodies we get some nice shots of T&A.

There was a bit of humour to Shredder and it mostly worked I loved one scene when two characters are butt naked in a hot tub, they are shagging, the girl turns around and notices her boyfriend watching them to which she relies “Cole, it’s not what it looks like”.

There are really few things I’d say against it, for the first half hour of the movie kind of drags a bit, there’s a bit to much wondering around and dialog. I could of done with a few more chase scenes, there really wasn’t enough of them during the movie.

Cover Review

The US cover art is pretty damn cool. Sure it's a teen cover but at least it looks better then most. The teens don't take up much room on the cover and the rest of it looks cool. I love the axe at the bottom and the tag line.

The UK cover art only Ok! The reflection of the hanging girl in the killers eyes is pretty cool! But the floating heads just look like a bad Photoshop job.
